Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band
Buffett will likely sail down from his Sag Harbor home to Jones Beach. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate summer than by seeing Jimmy Buffett at the Beach,” said Jason Miller, president of Live Nation New York. “We look forward to welcoming Jimmy and all Parrotheads back to Jones Beach for another incredible night of music on Long Island.”
Parrotheads can expect Buffett to dig deep into his catalog for favorites like “Volcano,” “Cheeseburger in Paradise” and “Changes in Attitude, Changes in Latitude.” The prolific 73-year-old -songwriter recently has seen the launch of a national tour of “Escape to Margaritaville,” a musical featuring his songs and based on a book by Greg Garcia and Mike O’Malley. In addition to creating and playing “island escape” music, Buffett is a best-selling author, actor, supporter of environmental causes and businessman involved in two restaurant chains named after his songs — he owns the Margaritaville Cafe restaurant chain and co-developed the Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant chain.
