Louis Atlas at My Father's Place

Punky Reggae Party

Louis Atlas returns with Special Guest Keith Cole who recently had the number one reggae song in Jamaica.

Having lived most of his life in New York City, Louis Atlas’ soul took root in Jamaica, “I feel like I was born with Reggae music in my blood.” The  musical epiphany came suddenly and without warning, one day he headed out to the beach, and began listening to Bob Marley’s record “Kaya.” After the first note, he was awestruck and just stood still in amazement, he was hooked.

Knowledge, honesty, self-awareness and determination empowered me into the heart of the world of Reggae, inspiring his first three albums: “Beat of the Heart,” “Citizen of NYC” and “Arms of Heaven.”  The journey continues with his fourth release, “Coconut Dream.”  Joined on this record by a stellar team, which includes master reggae guitarist Andy Bassford, whose session credits include Sly & Robbie, Toots & The Maytals, Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs, and my longtime producer/drummer Christian Cassan, whose resume includes studio work with David Byrne, Roger McGuinn, Jonathan Coulton, Aimee Mann, and They Might Be Giants.

The event is finished.
